Class Room Age

Our School age is designed for Kindergarten to 12 years old.

Curriculum

All activities for school age are based on the most up-to-date practices recognized by experts in the field of early childhood education. School ages are Fantastic Frogs at Afton View! Our Frogs are more adventurous and are ready for more freedom. We provide a before and after school program for our frogs, as we are committed to their success. Our morning program aims at providing brain stimulating activities for our frogs, to prepare them for school. Our after school program provides tutoring and homework help, brain relaxing activities, and indoor and outdoor physical activity.

The classroom teachers will prepare appropriate classroom activities for your schoolager, and help them succeed in school any way possible. Our programs are developed and evaluated annually by the director and lead teachers, to assure that your child is on the path with their educational development. The curriculum manual, your child’s progress notes and the Centers Program Plans are always available for review by parents.

Outdoor Time

We will play outdoors or in Gym everyday, weather permitting. Our outdoor activities will include walks, playing at the playground, painting, story time and water activities in the warmer months.

Safety

We value your schoolagers experience at Afton View, and assure that their safety and security is our highest priority. When your child starts at Afton View there will be observation notes done to track their activity, progress and incidents.

8:20 – 8:30	Cleanup/Transition to School

**SCHOOL-AGE AFTERNOON PROGRAM**
3:30 – 4:00	Arrival/Sign-in/Wash Hands/Free Choice Play
4:00 – 4:30	Cleanup/Snack
4:30 – 4:45	“Brain Break” Activity fo Energy Release
4:45 – 5:15	Homework Help/Tutoring
5:15 – 6:00	Outside Time/Large Muscle/Free Choice Play
